Album Cover
When redesigning Porter Robinson's album Nurture, my primary goal was to maintain the album's visual appeal while effectively communicating the album's many themes and emotions. The main themes of the album are about self-reflection and having conversations with your inner voice. It's a deeply personal album, and so I reflected that with the motif of a mirror. The mirror itself is also cracked, yet gilded and colorful; this is a representation of having scars but learning to overcome them. The ghost is a human-like figure with no defining features, so you’re able to put yourself into the album.
Final
The colors themselves are very muted and soft; this is intentional as it reflects the album’s overall tone of being kinder and more down to earth. Another way I showcased this was through my use of text hierarchy. All of the type is in lowercase; it's never made a priority in the composition so as not to take away from the art work, which is the primary focus.
