Typography Podcast Poster
I was assigned the podcast “Very Scary People” a true crime murder mystery about a seemingly perfect couple. I tried to incorporate three words into the design of the composition: brutal, facade, and calculated. To achieve this, I focused on addressing each word in different portions of the composition. To start with, I chose a sans-serif typeface with a subtly sketchy feel for the title “Very Scary People.” I chose to represent facade in the sub-title, “Ken and Barbie Killers.” Layered beneath the words Ken and Barbie is the word Killers, in a more opaque color so as to give the feeling of a mask. To incorporate the feeling of the word calculated, I chose to compositionally make the poster similar to a web board commonly seen in different true crime-related media.
Final
all of the information in the poster is connected by red lines and dots, giving a method to tie in all of the various pieces of information. All of this ties into what the poster is about: being a true crime murder mystery about a seemingly perfect couple turned murders. I represented this with my three chosen words, as well as with the use of negative space, giving a feeling of obscurity and ambiguity.
